Choreography

As a choreographer, my main goal is always to tell a story. While some of my favorite inspirations come from jazz choreographers like Fosse, I strive to expand my technical dictionary with each of my works, to find what best serves the story I am trying to tell.

Choreography has been a major passion of mine for almost ten years now. As a middle schooler, I would choreograph short liturgical dances and summer touring musicals. This interest continued to grow into assistant choreographing musicals at my community theatre and becoming the resident movement choreographer at my high school for three years.

Some of my favorite works I've done over the last few years are linked below, including a 15 minute review of Michael Buble-inspired songs, and a restaging of that same piece to Christmas music. Please feel free to check them out, and I hope you enjoy watching these stories as much as I enjoy telling them!

"Now I'm Feeling Good"
ShencoLab Festival 2023
Incorporates the various works of Michael Bublé and similar performers into a story of love, betrayal, and the journey after. It strives to debunk - or place “under construction” - the idea that only women can be the victim in a relationship, and attempts to continue shedding light on toxic masculinity. With live music, singers and dancers collaborate to tell the story of their shared characters through classic jazz sounds and Fosse-inspired movements.

"A Very Merry Hallmark Christmas"
Shenandoah University Holiday Gala 2023
A retelling of "Now I'm Feeling Good," this piece spins the original story on it's head into a light-hearted holiday celebration, inspired by the quintessential themes of Hallmark Christmas movies. Complete with the returning sound of Michael Buble and the technical jazz movements, the audience is welcomed into the holiday spirit with this lively performance.

Children of Eden
Junior Theatre Festival
A 15 Minute Cut of the full musical, this rendition takes the audience through the story of Adam and Eve, through their generations and into the story of Noah's Ark. With no props, costumes, or set allowed, the ensemble is used to portray almost every aspect of the story in the most creative ways possible.
"Runaway Baby"
Surreal Choreography Showcase
This short piece begins as every womanizer story does. The viewer watches the guy and girl fall into a playful cat-and-mouse relationship, which ends with the girl on top. Through agile and extremely athletic jazz styles, she coyly leads him on in this partnership.
"She's In Love"
Texas Thespian Festival
A Nationally Qualifying, Perfect scoring competiton piece, this arrangment of "She's In Love" from the Little Mermaid is adapted to be performed by a quintet of mersisters. With simple but effective choreography, this piece works to translate the original musical's story into a competition format.
