Emily Adams is a Texas-born performer and choreographer currently based at Shenandoah University, where she is pursuing a BFA in Musical Theatre and a BA in Dance. A bold, high-energy leading lady, Emily is known for her strong stage presence and vocal versatility. She gravitates toward both comedic and dramatic roles, particularly those that center on themes of love, courage, and self-discovery. A dynamic performer, she combines a love of tap and movement with a powerful belt and a bright soprano range, bringing both athleticism and musicality to her work. She is passionate about developing inventive, forward-thinking performance.

Emily began her performance career on the Gulf Coast of Texas, working in community theatre and participating in national programs including Junior Theater Festival, as well as collaborations with iTheatrics, Music Theatre International, and Concord Theatricals.

At Shenandoah, Emily trains extensively in acting, voice, and dance, working with faculty including Kevin Covert, Shylo Martinez, Matthew Edwards, Patrick Brady, Stephanie Higgins Marshall, Nancy Anderson, Maurice Fraga, Daniel Padierna, and Tiffanie Carson. She has further developed her movement vocabulary studying with nationally recognized choreographers, Earl Mosley, Mike Esperanza, Brooke Engen, and Maleek Wahington, strengthening her versatility across commercial, contemporary, and musical theatre styles. Emily has also worked with vocal coach Matthew Lee Robinson since the age of thirteen, cultivating a dynamic vocal range that spans both powerful belt and soprano repertoire. Her acting training is grounded in Meisner-based technique, supporting a responsive and emotionally connected performance style.

While not on the stage, Emily can be found actively working with the American Cancer Society through volunteer work with Relay for Life. She is passionate about being involved in her campus community, and achieves this through her roles as President of Alpha Psi Omega, and President of the SUrreal Choreography Troupe. Her hobbies include: cooking, baking, painting, re-watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and spending time in the sun!
